Regrowth of grassland after controlled burn, Serengenti National Park, Tanzania. Park managers set fires in Serengeti National Park to keep grasslands from undergoing succession and becoming savannas or woodlands. Fires like this are part of the ecology of the area. Soon after a fire, plants begin to regrow and herbivores like to eat this new growth.
