Coffee grown with shade. This coffee is being grown in shade; compare with the full sun coffee. Different varieties are grown under different conditions. If native tree species are used for shade, birds and other native animals can use the coffee plantation for habitat. Native to Ethiopia, coffee grows as a shrub or small tree. Each fruit contains two coffee beans (technically, they are seeds) that will be dried, roasted, and ground before they can be used to create a cup of coffee.
