Cattle pasture on former tropical rainforest land, Costa Rica. This scene is quite familiar throughout the tropics. Land that was once covered with rich lowland rainforest has been converted to cattle pasture. All too often, these pastures lose productivity after just a few years and more forest is cut to create further pasture land.
